Welcome to my little world!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We had a wonderful meal at my daughter's home, my son-in-law's brother and his family was there along with a family friend.
After lunch we took a hayride, I guess you have to have a hayride in South Texas instead of a sleigh ride because there is no snow! Ha!
It was a wonderful day, the food and the weather was perfect!
I didn't go black Friday shopping but I did buy a GPS online for a great price and I had to run to the grocery store yesterday.
I am hoping to make some Christmas cards this weekend and church tomorrow and if I get really industrious I might do a little Christmas decorating. I plan to at least start digging out the decorations!
I love Thanksgiving weekend!
Oh and last night I had a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream with a small slice of pecan pie - the most delicious thing I've had in my mouth in a long, long time!:)

What Makes My Heart Happy Week #2
This picture makes me think of what makes my heart happy and that is a relationship with God through the sacrifice of his only son Jesus Christ. He is with me always no matter what and it can't be any better than that.
This photo was taken by my daughter Lori - she found some large nails laying on her porch from when their home was built and she took them and made this cross, took a photo and did some work with it in photoshop, that is her hand holding it. Such a neat photo that reminds me of Jesus' sacrifice for me and the grace that is mine every moment of every day.

What Makes My Heart Happy Week #1
I'm doing a challenge at www.haveyourwaywithpaper.com to post something that makes my heart happy, once a week for the month of October.
One of the things that makes my heart the happiest are my children, this is a picture of Randy & Lori taken last October. I don't get many pictures of these two together now that they are adults with families so I love this photo!
I am all about family and these two are my pride & joy, the apples of my eye! I love them beyond words and they always make my heart happy!:)

October Update.
October is my favorite month! I love that the air is cooler & crisper, the sun shines in a different place, one that I love, seems to make everything glow somehow. I love the sights & smells of this season. Makes me happy!
I started reading the last of the DragonSpell Series - DragonLight, I've enjoyed them but am a bit glad they are coming to an end, unlike I felt with the Harry Potter Series.
I have found another way to pass the time - Pinterest, I love this website, I am a little bit addicted I think. So much fun!
I made a yummy Pumpkin Dump Cake last night, so good. Maybe I will share the recipe.
Well - that's it for now. I must go and enjoy my first October Sunday Afternoon!:)

Now Reading...
DRAGONFIRE - the 4th book in the series by Donita K. Paul.
In this book she takes a little different approach and it jumping back and forth between 2 scenes, I had to get used to that but I do like the story, these books are quite entertaining.

It's Saturday
I actually forgot to do the Friday Fill Ins yesterday so I did them today and just pretended it was Friday! LOL!
I have been neglecting the blog but don't think anyone is looking here anyway. I like to come around at least once a week though and check in, just so I keep it going.
I am on the 3rd Donita K. Paul book - Dragon Knight. I think it's my favorite so far.
I am off to finish a scrapbook page I've been working on. TaTa!

It's been awhile
since I posted something, I've been a little busy but today I haven't done much, I didn't sleep well last night so I have been dragging today.
I did finish a book the other day, I read DragonSpell by Donita K. Paul, I've started the second in the series (there are 5) DragonQuest. They are good fantasy type books, I think they are good reads for the summer anyway.
Hopefully I will sleep better tonight and feel better tomorrow and get something done!

A Surprise! A Cookbook!
I was so surprised when I got a letter saying I would be getting a recipe published in an upcoming Gooseberry Patch cookbook! My recipe for Mom's Spaghetti & Meatballs will be in the upcoming Rush-Hour Recipes, I will get a free copy in January 2012! Think I will submit a couple more recipes to them now.
I encourage anyone reading this to submit recipes to Gooseberry Patch, if they publish your recipe in one of their cookbooks they will send you a free copy of the cookbook. Can't beat that. I love Gooseberry Patch!
I got a couple more 12x12 layouts finished yesterday to make a total of 10 so far this month!
Today Lori, Gabriel & Kique are coming to spend the night, can't wait to see that baby boy!

Scraping Update
Yesterday was the 4th of July, we had some yummy grilled burgers and I made vanilla ice cream, it was SO good!
The past couple of days I have gotten my scrappin mojo back and completed 4 layouts and 2 pocket pages and I have another LO in the works - had to stop to work on those burgers/ice cream! Hopefully today I'll get to complete that.

A Recipe!
A friend of mine posted this recipe on Facebook today so I'm going to share it here because it sounds so yummy!
BAKED FUDGE
BAKED FUDGE
2 cups sugar
1/2 c all purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
4 eggs beaten
2 sticks margarine (melted)
...1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c chopped nuts (optional)
Pre-heat oven to 325
Combine sugar, flour and cocoa in a bowl. Stir to combine.
Stir (do not use mixer) in eggs, melted butter, vanilla and nuts.
Pour mixture into an 8x8 or 9x9 square baking pan. Place it into a larger casserole dish etc that is half full of hot water.
Bake an hour, start checking it may take a little longer. Ovens vary. It is done when you can stick a knife in it and not messy.
She says this is actually a pudding and wonderful served with vanilla ice cream while warm.
